Is there anyone to control manually or is it on manual test mode can it be used in manual mode

How much play is there supposed to be along shaft of the pulley? I notice the belt kept slipping off.

@theapplianceman Hi Angel, Your videos for the Maytag Tub Seal and Bearing replacement helped me back in 2010. Your videos taught me exactly what I needed to learn to repair my washer. 14 years later in 2024, it started to leak again, and I did the same repair to replace the tub seal. There seem to be a different issue now after repair of seal is complete. After I replaced the bearing and tub seal, the test cycle of a dry cycle for spin dry worked well. Now when I fill the tub for wash cycle and change the timer to a spin cycle, the machine sounds like it attempting to start to spin then shuts down after a few seconds, and when I switch the timer off, I can't get any cycle to work unless I unplug the washer from the power outlet, and let rest for awhile and then start wash cycle. The wash cycle works but spin cycle shuts down again. Do you have any thought on this...? Maytag Dependable Care The model number: LAT8416AAE

12 years later and you have a guy messing around diagnosing a LA712 and this video was very helpful. It was not my motor, all I can come up with was a bad connection on something inside the panel. The washer filled with water and all you could hear was the timer motor, open the lid, timer motor stopped, tested motor, all good, hooked it back up, still nothing. Opened the panel to check the lid switch for the heck of it and just look around... it just started working again, a few loads later, it's still working.

Your video was absolutely most helpful. The rest of the people don’t talk about putting the belt in that little groove. I’ve just spent close to two hours thinking I had the wrong belt and fighting with this machine and I’m not new to this, but that groove made everything go together it gives it just enough slack so that you could actually get it around the motor pulley. I had it done within minutes of your video, so thank you so much

Should the inner tub spin free without the transmission in? Do you grease the drive block? The problem Im having is the motor smells like its burning when its in the spin cycle? Like the motor is working to hard. Would you have a guess? Drive block looks great so do the tabs on the driveblock tub. Happy I found you again. Your videos are uncomplicated and very to the point helpful. Thank You

Great video ONCE AGAIN. Thank you. Looking at your video, correct me if I'm wrong but the most obvious symptom to me as to needing to replace any of these parts is the GEAR failing to be elevated by the spring or the gear's teeth obviously being stripped since it is only made of PLASTIC. And of course the belt's deterioration or being broken. Am I correct??
